Dwarf Spinner Dolphins, Humpback whales and Snubfin dolphins.
A Humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) cow and calf rest in St George Basin at the mouth of the Prince Regent River. Whales were seen this year further north around Cape Torrens, near Prince Frederick Harbour, near the Coronation Islands, and the Heyward Islands in Camden Sound.
This pod of Snubfin dolphins were photographed in Brunswick Bay , and a pod of 7 of the newly described Dwarf or Miniature Spinner Dolphins were photographed 7km due west of James Price Point. This smaller variety of the Spinner dolphin was identified by researchers from Murdoch University’s Cetacean Unit in 2012.

Every time I look at these photos I shake my head and ask why on earth does Woodside and WA Government want to destroy their home when there is other ways of processing this gas
I agree – James Price Point is about the worst place in the world to make a 30km2 industrial development. The dredging for the deep sea port would wipe out most of the sea-life. Wake up Barnett!
It is nice to look at these photos now with joy in my hear knowing now that these Snubfin dolphins are now not in danger now that Woodside is no building the gas plant at James Price point
